Stress Control – 10 Easy Actions to Lessen Stress Generated By Your Online Business

Lots of us choose to work at home to avoid the many problems resulting from the typical 9-5 job – issues like an irrational boss, too much work and/or foolish deadlines.

But, we may rapidly discover that working at home brings its own issues.  So, how should we cope with these brand-new issues?

1.  Allocate A Efficient Office At Home

Make sure you’ve got a private workspace, with all of the necessary equipment like phone, computer, printer, fax, and so on. You will need a comfortable chair and a solid desk.  You can make your workspace more pleasant by making sure that you have lots of space, lots of light – and, if you’re a feng shui afficienado, have someone come in and feng shui your office!

2.  Drop Unnecessary Activities

Go through your “To-Do” List and eliminate anything that truly doesn’t have a place on the list, or anything that doesn’t positively need to be completed.  Be disciplined in your actions – eliminate as much unnecessary work as possible.  Reducing your list will not only save you the time you would spend attempting to complete those tasks – it’ll also minimize the stress and mental problems associated with fretting about those unnecessary jobs.

3.  Obtain Necessary Tools and Equipment

The proper tools and equipment make any task much less complicated.  Spend the cash to get the basic equipment you need to do your job.  And, if your situation permits, spend some additional money to get the equipment that ( while not completely necessary ) will streamline your vocation and make your life generally far less stressed.

Invest in a sound, automated marketing management system and let computers handle lead management and order fulfillment activities for you.

4. Employ a Virtual Assistant ( s )

Define tasks that are mechanical, recurring and not one of your key processes.  See about outsourcing them to a virtual admin (which is far more affordable than you could think).  Candidates for outsourcing are article marketing, web design, SEO, backlinking, lead follow-ups, etc.

5.  Build a Support Network

Working from home can become a very lonely activity.  Create a robust support group – this may be a bunch of colleagues with whom you collaborate via the web (e.g, forums, discuss rooms ) or a local group in your community or church.  The most important thing is to stay in regular contact with folks who are crucial to you – and who can share what you’re going through as an entrepreneur.

6.  Manage Your Goals

Don’t expect miracles or overnight success.  Build a formal, or informal, association with a coach or friend who can help you set practical plans and expectations – and help you stay inspired when things don’t go quite the way you want them to go. An internet, or work at home business, is simply that – a business.  As such it requires a n ongoing supply of customers and products and sellers, etc.  Each one of those presents another opportunity for a problem to occur, inflating your daily levels of stress – like the common nine-to-five work.

7. Break It Into Pieces

Your great and wonderful ideas may seem inspiring, but taken as a whole, they can be very overpowering and frightening ( e.g., “I wish to be a millionaire” or “I need to retire in five years”).  The smartest thing to do with such grand goals is to “chunk them,” i.e, break them into far littler, more manageable chunks and then make a plan to achieve each of those subordinate goals.

8.  Eat Healthy

Eat a healthy, healthy diet loaded in fruit and veg.  Reduce or eliminate caffeine ( coffee, black and green tea, cola drinks, and chocolate ).

9.  Work Out

Exercise relieves tension, pushes oxygen to the brain, and offers a recess from stressed situations.

10.  Rest & Recreate

Try to plan time everyday to breathe and do something that you enjoy, even if it is just for a couple of minutes.

One of the great advantages of a run work-at-home} business is that you are now your own head honcho – but that’s also one of the biggest causes of stress in your life.  You are now the one person who needs to decide what jobs need to be done, when and by whom.
